Sky and water formed a vague, gray curtain at the far edge of the world. Still, there have been times when they’ve surprised me and given me a battle to remember.” I’ve been much too restless, too much a caster, to take time to troll. Now and then I cross paths and sometimes match my skill with their weight and strength. it doesn't snag up your sinker of hook bait.“Lake trout have been on the edge of my fishing world. cast out about 30 meters 99 feet and then reel it back to 10 meters. No good casting 2 foot from the reeds with an 8 foot leader following behind.įishing in that reed bed on michigan you could try this as it is what i do. ![]() Rule of thumb closer you are to weeds shorter the leader should be. Leads sink in to the mud and your leader and bait will be caught up in it as well. Fishing on the bottom you lose the ability to keep your bait above the crap that is on the bottom which can be anywhere on a lake. So unless a fish takes you in closer which does happen and your float disappears altogether (most annoying) your normally good to go and can fish without any hassle. But with the simplest fishing mechanics in place in this game I very much doubt they have programmed any distance response to feeder fishing. It really only applies to feeder fishing you want your hook bait near where your feeder bait lands or the fish will be over your ground bait but not on your hook bait if it is 250cm away. Leader distance is less important with bottom fishing with lead weights (sinkers). I never use more than 36 inches 90cm and if close on weed beds or the reeds i use 30-45 cm max. ![]() No good casting 2 foot from the reeds with an 8 foot leader following behind. I get virtually no snags and even in my snagging spots it was only 1 of 10 at worst. IMO, you are losing entirely too many bait to this and it makes me wonder if you're doing something wrong.
